A Couple bought a new house and were shocked by what they discovered was hidden in the office
Buying a a new house and moving to live in it is always a fulfilling experience, from the moment you signed up the contract until the minute you get the keys, and finding all the surprises you didn't know were there when you first came to look at it.
But one very lucky couple couldn't believe their eyes when they were told what was hidden under the floor of the room that was supposed to be the "office" in their brand new home.
Mark and Jenny Ronsman, both 39 years old, had been told when they bought their house three years ago in Wisconsin, US, that there was a hot tub hidden in one of the rooms.
An elderly lady that had lived in their property prior to them, said that as she got older, she stopped using it so she covered it and converted its room into an office.
She even showed an old photo of the tub filled with water and people, but it didn’t give a glimpse of an idea of how the hot tub itself realy looked like open.
"I was truly shocked and also joyed to find that something so beautiful was IN our house! I was also truly grateful to discover the previous owners took such great care that what they did could be reversed!", Mark said.
It took the couple three and a half years after they moved in to the house before they ever considered fixing it up.
Mark uploaded the before and after pictures to his Facebook account and was praised with likes and comments.
"When we bought this house, we knew there was a hot tub in this room. But the elderly woman who sold us the house said they got older and stopped using it, so they converted it to an office", Mark wrote.
"One of the first things I did when we moved in was tear up that carpet and figure out what was going"..
Being in quarantine and lockdown these days due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, they now finally have the time to fix it up to get it running again.
"While it was always our intention to fix up the hot tub, it really didn’t reach the top of our ‘need’ list until the lockdown, so that’s when we kicked it up a gear in terms of restoration efforts", Mark said.
"I was pleased to find the tile in the hot tub looks beautiful! And it's super deep! I'm just now finally getting to fixing it up to run again. Hopefully soon while this lockdown is going on."
"I am an IT systems engineer and my wife Jenny is a college professor. We have an amazing 5-year-old daughter. The dear old woman who sold this house sold it to us because she said it was important for her that the house goes to a nice family. Our in-laws live across our backyard, the street over, and the former owner just loved that, and how close it would make our family together."
Mark and Jenny, we are so glad to see how excited you are on discovering what was hidden in your house's floor! Nothing can compare to how that must feel!
