What happens behind the bathroom door is something most people do not want to talk about.

So it's no wonder that almost no one admits to peeing in the shower.

But the fact is, according to this survey, that 61% of Americans pee in the shower. And we are sure that in other countries in the world people also pee while they shower.

But it's really not as disgusting or dangerous as you might think..

Urine is not bad for the body. On the contrary, there are several benefits to emptying your bladder while you are in the shower.

Here are 5 reasons why you should start peeing in the shower (if you are not already).

1. Good for the environment

Every time you flush the toilet, six gallons of water goes down the drain. On average, we pee about seven times a day, which means you flush 42 gallons of water down the toilet a day.

Peeing in the shower once a day can save a country like England about 140 billion liters of water a year. Most impressive, no?

2. Natural toilet cleaner

Any woman who ever lived with a man knows that sometimes he sprays a few drops out of the toilet, and even though it is not life threatening, no one wants to sit on the toilet and touch the pee with her toes.

3. It is hygienic

When you wipe yourself after, you are actually smearing it. It's not very clean, especially if you did number 2.

So peeing in the shower can therefore save you even urinary tract infection.

4. Saves money

If you do not pee in the toilet often, you will not use so much toilet paper and water. It will save you time, and money. Two things that are rare nowadays.

5. Good for skin

Urine contains urea, which is good for the skin and gives it moisture. It is a common ingredient in skin care products but is usually manufactured synthetically.

Dermatologist Rachel Nazarian says, "We still use urea, a component of urine, in many skin care products. Urine in the end is mostly water - but a small percentage of it is urea".

So do not be ashamed! Next time you're in the shower, release yourself. It is good for you and the environment.
