IKEA's kallax shelves are a real classic - and it's not hard to see why.

They are simple, useful, and relatively inexpensive. And because they look great from every angle, there are many things you can do with them.

When Michelle brought her kallax shelves back home and mounted them, she realized they were a little too big for the area they were supposed to be in. So what did she do?

She thought of a brilliant plan to turn the shelves into something better for her. And after she finished, we're sure she was happy she used her imagination for this project.

In the picture below, you can see where Michelle wanted to put the shelves.

And like most of us, Michelle also checked the measurements.

She bought three shelves from IKEA's kallax shelves series, but soon realized she didn't have enough room for them.

As you can see in the picture below, the shelves were too wide.

Michelle thought of just leaving the shelves there, but then she thought of simple, but ingenious idea.

She turned the outer shelf at 90 degrees, and then everything fitted perfectly.

But she didn't let her imagination stop there ...

Because she didn't think the shelf side looked so good, she decided to upgrade it.

So she took some tape, paint, brush, and got to work.

And after seeing Michelle's solution, it's hard not to be impressed. Thanks for the tip Michelle!
