According to British Airways flight attendant Ty Opoku Adjei, countless travelers forget their passports, especially in their hotel rooms.

But as someone who flies regularly and can't afford to make such a big mistake, she shared a simple yet very clever trick that will ensure you never check out of a hotel without checking the in-room safe first.

And while it may sound strange, all you need is a shoe.

In an interview with Business Insider, the flight attendant explains how she uses her shoe to ensure she doesn't leave without her important belongings.

"My tip is to keep one shoe in the safe that you plan to wear during your trip".

"If you do this, you'll never leave your hotel room without checking the safe.. as long as you don't forget where you put your shoe, of course.."

No one leaves their hotel room barefoot, so having your shoes with your valuables and essentials will make it impossible to forget them. Smart, right?
