Anyone who needs to sleep next to someone that snores at night knows how awful it can be.

Just as you begin to fall asleep on your pillow, a sound that can only be described as a huge balloon with air coming out of awakens you, and it does not stop throughout the night. Which makes it impossible to fall asleep and sleep properly during the night.

But in addition to being very annoying, your snoring spouse can also be dangerous to your health, according to a new research.

The new study which was published last December, shows that it may be detrimental to your health to sleep alongside someone who snores tightly all night.

40% of men snore

According to statistics, 40% of men snore at night, compared to only 24% of women. These numbers mean that women's health is more affected.

Experts at the Sleep Research Organization in Illinois, United States, have researched people who are snoring and studied the consequences these snores have for those who need to sleep next to them.

In the study mentioned above, the researchers found that the partner's snoring interferes so much with sleep that they pose a health hazard.

The study showed that 14% of participants snore as loud as up to 53 decibels.

"Noise intensity of 53 decibels can cause heart problems in populations exposed to these types of problems", the study states.
