They saw a sad dog that was abandoned in the desert, but when they approached her.. I couldn't stop the tears
Abandoning dogs in the side of the roads can be very dangerous because there's always the chance that the dog will be hit by cars.
But when you keep them in a warm climate, the risk only increases because now they have to compete against the hot weather. That's what happened when Hope For Paws received a call about a white German Shepherd that was abandoned in the desert.
For four months, volunteers would go to the desert and leave the dog food in hopes she begins to trust them. Traps didn't work, so they had to take a desperate step up.
After using an anesthetic arrow, they got the dog, now named Venus, gave her fluids and also a bath.
