13 years ago they were called 'the most beautiful twins in the world' - but wait until you see what they look like today

In 2017, Leah Rose and Ava Marie Clements celebrated their 7th birthday by launching an Instagram account that went viral overnight, attracting followers who were stunned by their breathtaking beauty.
Today, the 14-year-old girls from California—often referred to as “the most beautiful twins in the world”—are internationally recognized child models, with a heartwarming story that’s as captivating as their angelic looks.
In 2017, Jaqi Clements decided to share photos of her identical twin daughters, Leah and Ava, on social media. At first, the posts were simply a way to share their lives with friends and family. But the internet quickly took notice of their extraordinary beauty, and the account began to gain traction.
Their natural charm and stunning looks resonated with people, and soon modeling agencies and brands began reaching out. What began as a simple Instagram page quickly evolved into a powerful platform that would reshape their lives.
“Instagram was something I barely used before I created an account for the girls,” wrote the mother of three in a blog post. “If you had asked me six months earlier whether 300,000 followers was a lot… I wouldn’t have had a clue.”
Today, the twins have nearly 3 million followers across Instagram and Facebook, along with high-profile brand partnerships with companies like Nike, Disney, and Target, cementing their status as leading child models.
Criticism
Behind the glamour, the Clements family has faced harsh criticism from those who questioned the parents’ decision to allow Leah and Ava to enter the modeling industry at such a young age.
Jaqi has strongly defended her choice, explaining that modeling was the twins’ dream, not something forced upon them. She emphasized that she and her husband, Kevin, did not profit from their daughters, but instead made personal financial sacrifices to support them in pursuing their passion.
In response to the criticism, Jaqi wrote, “It wasn’t my decision for the girls to start modeling—it was theirs. And if the day comes when they want to move on to something else, I will 100% support their decision to do so.”
A Lifeline
The family originally saw social media as a way to share the sisters’ modeling journey, but in October 2019, the Clements twins’ Instagram account—by then boasting millions of followers due to their modeling success—became a lifeline for their father.
The family's life took an unexpected turn when Kevin, a father of three and the head swim coach at a local high school, began experiencing what he initially thought was a mild cold.
At the age of 39, Kevin was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Determined to help, the twins harnessed the power of social media, hoping to find a bone marrow match among their millions of followers that could save their father's life.
“If he gets a transplant, his cancer will go away faster,” Ava told People in 2019.
Leah added, “People are so kind and want to help my dad. The more people who get tested, the better.”
Thousands of people across the country responded to the twins’ heartfelt plea to help their father. Although Kevin ultimately found a match in his brother Chris, the followers who offered their support were added to the national registry to help other patients in need.
More Than Just Pretty Faces
Ava and Leah are now 14, stunning young women who continue to model and engage with their growing fanbase. Their journey from local models to international sensations is a testament to their hard work, natural charm, and the unwavering support of their family.
Balancing their successful modeling careers with education, family life, and public outreach, Leah and Ava have proven they are more than just pretty faces — they are an inspiration to many. As they continue to grow, the world eagerly awaits what the future holds for these remarkable young stars.
