Lexi, 26, and Danny Reed, 28, are a young and happy couple.
But both suffered from a defect that prevented them from enjoying all that life has to offer: they both suffered from obesity.
At their wedding, Lexi weighed 217 kg, while Danny weighed 126 kg.
Their obesity has affected their lives in many ways - both have been affected by it mentally and physically.
Lexi and Danny have often found themselves in awkward situations because of their weight.
Then one day, they decided it was time to change their lives.
Lexi remembers vividly the day she told herself it was time to make a change.
“For a long time I expected to go to an amusement park and get on the roller coaster”, she said. "But when I got to the front of the line, the operators told me I was weighing too much. That I could not go up. It was so humiliating".
But Lexi's obesity has also affected her daily life. She felt more and more uncomfortable with her situation.
Lexi and Danny realized their weight was unhealthy.
They knew they had to do something about it, but were afraid to change their lives and break old habits.
"We easily ate more than 4,000 calories a day. Vegetables were never on the menu. All we ate was fast or fried food", Lexi said.
But in January 2016 she got tired of it.
Not only did they decide to change their menu, they tried to change their lives from the ground up.
When eating was their favorite hobby, it was not an easy task at all.
"We often went to 'eat as much as you can' restaurants. Then we returned home and ordered more food", Lexi said.
To document their journey toward a healthier life and to inspire others, Lexi set up an Instagram page called "Fat Girl Fed Up".
It was not going be easy, but Lexi and Danny had two tools that helped them in their difficult journey of losing weight: their desire, and each other.
Lexi lost about 108 kg, and Danny lost about 31 kg.
At first, they tried to live without fast food for 30 days, but they went much further than that.
Today, their meals are balanced, and much healthier.
But that does not bother Lexi at all - she knows that their new and healthy lifestyle makes her feel much better.
"Danny and I still work very hard every day to reach our goal", Lexi said proudly. "We haven't gotten there yet, but still, I didn't think we'd get this far. It's just amazing. A lot of small steps can complete something big".
And of course, the change is tremendous!
One can hardly believe that these are the same people. And look how happy they are!
We must say that these two had an amazing and inspiring journey.
Obesity can have dire consequences, so it's a wonderful feeling to see Lexi and Danny feel so much better now.
