14 Useful tips and tricks for people who love a clean and fresh house

If you are a cleaning lover and can't stand stains or a dirty house, then these cleaning tricks are just for you.
They are wonderful for keeping a clean house, and most of them are also environmental friendly.
Don't hesitate to try them. We tried them all and they definitely work!
1. Sponges
Here's an easy way to clean old sponges from bacteria and smell - put a small amount of dish cleaning soap on a wet sponge, and rub it in until there's a nice amount of foam. Then, 'cook' the sponge in a microwave for 1-2 minutes. It will be clean and fresh and ready for use again once its getting cold again.
2. Mattress
As time goes by, your mattress gets dirty. In order to make it look just like new, sprinkle a little baking soda powder over it. Then, wait a few hours before you start to vacuum-clean it. All the dirty and unpleasant smells will disappear. This trick also works for sofas.
3. Cutting board
A combination of salt and lemon works wonders for cleaning the cutting board. Once you covered its surface with salt, take half a lemon and rub it over it, and then wash with hot water.
4. Toasters
Using an old tooth brush, you can easily clean all the slots and holes inside the toaster.
5. Taps
Want the tap to shine? Rub a wax paper on it to remove the water stains and dirt. It will continue to shine for a long time afterwards.
6. Irons
Put your iron on a soft cloth that you've put on the ironing board with a tablespoon of salt sprinkled all over it. Warm the iron for a while before you do this, and turn off the steam. Then, simply run the iron a few times over the soft cloth towel with the salt, but don't press too hard. A few minutes after that, you iron will look like brand new!
7. Silverware
Put your silverware into a bowl with some aluminium foil and 300 grams of baking salt. Then, fill it with boiling water and leave for 20 minutes. After that, wash with cold water and dry. A chemical reaction between the salt and the aluminium foil will clean the silverware so you won't have to rub it or use toxic cleaners.
8. Clothes
It's realy easy to clean oil stains from shirts using white chalk. Rub the chalk over the stained areas, and it will soak in the oil. After that, put into the laundry machine as usual.
9. Blinds
Cleaning the blinds can be hard and time consuming. But if you use an old sock and some vinegar, you can clean the blinds with minimum efforts.
10. Pots
Using salt is unquestionably the best way to clean pots. The salt soaks the oil and helps releasing the burnt food. Mix salt with some water and then wash.
11. Carpets
Mix 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water in a spray bottle. Spray over the stains and cover them with a soft cloth. Turn on an iron, and set it to steam, and iron the soft cloth for 30 seconds.. and say goodbye to the stains!
12. Sinks
Clean the sink with baking soda powder and an old tooth brush. After that, cover the drain with a few slices of lemon and open the water for a few minutes.
13. Windows
Clean the windows as usual, but dry them with papers. They will be very clean and free of water stains.
14. Unpleasant smells
Pour a teaspoon of vanilla extract in a bowl and put it in the oven at 150 degrees (celcius) for 1 hour. Your house will get filled with a magical smell and all the unpleasant smells with be gone.
